TOPIC: FEW THAT NEED ID'S

FEW THAT NEED ID'S 9 months, 3 weeks ago #17441

hello! I have been having a hard time locating info for some lilies. I wish the AHS website search would let you search by color also. 1st pix. mid season bloomer, height.tall 36+ blooms large. I polenated it so that is why it looks the way it does. any help would be appreciated. I got it a few years ago and the little plastic card that said what it was was so dry and brittle and not readable i thought maybe it was chatham lady...but its definately not diamond dusted.

second one....i dont have any info on it, its new to my house..so ??

I have a couple questions. Did you buy them from an online source? or local? If online do you remember who? if local, remember who?
The first pic may be ,pre doffoicult than usual to id without the stamens and anthers. Sometimes the look of the anthers is all that differentiates one from another.

P.S. That second is a beautiful pink in the photo...is it as pink in the garden?

here is some more of the 1st one for reference. the 1st one was bought from a local nursery and I dont know if the small tag is in the soil or if its completely lost all togeither. The second one was bought as is on ebay. It is a very vibrant pink!!

I know the coloring looks completely different!!!!! I took the 2nd photo in the late evening 7pm or so. the 1st pix was at 8am.

Hi Amanda,
You said you pollinated the yellowish gold one. What did you cross it with, a dip or a tet? Did it take? It looks a bit like Persimmone, a diploid that I grow.
The pinkish one is a bit harder to tell without a straight on photo of it. Do you know if its a dip or a tet? At first I thought it looked a little like Orchid Corsage, but you said it was a bright pink and Orchid Corsage I think is more of a mauve pink.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I know the peachy yellowish colored one is a dip becuase I crossed it with my Spider Maricle and got two pods (my first and only two pods) As far as the other one. I am going to expirment next year with crossing and see if dip or tet takes to it.

The image of your first cultivar reminds me a bit of the old Stout Medal winner, CLARENCE SIMON.

Here is the registration information, although back in those years it was sparse. However, with 70,000 registered cultivars, this is completely a guess!

Clarence Simon (MacMillan, 1966)
height 28", bloom 6", season M, Rebloom, Evergreen, Diploid, Pink melon self with green throat. (sdlg × Satin Glass)

Good luck with finding the ID's.
