TOPIC: Unknown Bicolor

Unknown Bicolor 9 months, 1 week ago #17488

A friend has a large amount of this unknown lily and said I can have a large clump if I can find out the name of it. I have not been able to do so yet. Any one know what it is or give me more ideas of where to look for the name?

Your unknown reminds me of an older Jamie Gossard cultivar, RADIATION BIOHAZARD. The only image I have of it is a very old one taken in too much sun, but it is more maroon than reddish, as my picture looks. Here are the stats from the DB:

Radiation Biohazard (Gossard, 2000)
height 37", bloom 9", season M, Dormant, Diploid, Fragrant, 26 buds, 4 branches, UFo Crispate , Maroon bicolor with yellow midrib above green yellow throat. ((Spiral Charmer × Charmer) × (Mormon Spider × Pat Thornton))

Do the stats match your unknown? The blooms are large on this!

The lighting could be making the bloom in Ivan's photo look a lot more purple than it really is. Look at the color of the foliage...very blue, which means that the photo was taken in the shade, or the sky was overcast.
