On Dg we had a few name the daylily's

Someone has a seedling, members suggest names, and a name is picked. Then what happens? Is the hybridizer suppose to register the name or the person who suggested the name? Does the person who suggested the name get the seedling? Who pays for the registration? Who is checking with AHS to find out if any suggested names haven't been used already, reserved or in the process of submitting their request to AHS?
I ask because it gets complicated when suggesting names when someone has already submitted an application to use it or reserved it or even yet, has an application in process.

Not trying to discourage the idea, but perhaps if you could explain how it worked on Dg?

WAY IT WORKED -SOMEONE WHO HAS A SEEDLING THEY ARE GOING TO REGISTER IN FALL OR SPRING POSTS A PICTURE AND SAYS HE/SEE IS STARTING A CONTEST NAME THAT DAYLILY.THEY LIST EVERYTHING ABOUT THE SEEDLING HEIGHT, SCAPE, WHEN IT BLOOMS WHAT EVER THAT KNOW/WRITE DOWN.
START A NEW THREAD SAY CONTEST NAME THIS DAYLILY THEY HAVE A START DATE AND END DATE WHEN THEY WILL PICK THE WINNER
SO AFTER THERE POST.PEOPLE THINK OF NAMES AND WHEN PERSON DECIDES ON NAME.THEY STATE WHO WINNER IS: AND THEY GET A FAN OF IT WHEN PERSON REGISTER'S OR SPRING FALL WHEN THEY DIVIDE.
TWO PEOPLE ACTUALLY WIN HERE SOMEONE NAMES THERE DAYLILY
AND SOMEONE WINS A FAN OR TWO ON PERSON POSTING
