TOPIC: It's too early for snow.

It's too early for snow. 6 months, 3 weeks ago #18077

Saturday: Rain before 5pm, then rain and snow likely. High near 44. Breezy, with a north wind between 16 and 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Saturday Night: Rain and snow likely before 11pm, then a slight chance of snow between 11pm and 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Northwest wind between 7 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

The leaves have not even fallen off the trees yet. So we have barely been able to have the spectacular change of season. It's just not time for fall to hang up her party dress.

10/29 - A slushy freezing mix today. Freezing temps tonight and Sunday pm. Have some black magic elephant ear and caladium which I totally forgot to dig up.

I hear you and I'm thinking I might even get to photograph a daylily blooming with snow on it. Wouldn't that be something?

It's darned cold tonight, and I made dinner in the oven, then left the oven door open to let the remaining heat go into the house. We haven't turned on the heat yet...but I'm sure it's only matter of hours before I will have to bite the bullet.

UGH!!! I'm not ready for cold! I love summer. Even the one we had this year. I need sunshine to make my body move out of my warm comfortable recliner. Clouds and cold make me hibernate.THat's it!!! I'm a mama bear. Finally, I know how to tell my doctor how I feel in the winter.

We just got our last high electric bill of $190 paid this week. I just can not go directly to high gas bills. Everyone dig out your warm clothes for atleast a week or two. I'd make it but my dear hubby just can't stand cold. He's been wearing a pretty heavy coat for the last 3 weeks!!! I just dug out my hoody last night.

The two good things that happen with cold weather at my house:

I cook very big pots of soup. I love homemade soup. I start out with a pot that holds about 3qts and end up with it in a 2 gallon pot!!! Sometimes, I have 2 2 gallon pots!!! Dear hubby just shakes his head and walks off. I say, "I've got hot food to serve for a week, eat up!!"

I can say goodbye to those little yellow spots on my foilage called rust. It's been a very mild year around this garden. Thank God for this blessing. Also I don't have to hand water as much.

We are supposed to have frost this weekend, but no snow. It just doesn't snow around here this early. Maybe in late November a light dusting. We get most of ours in January.

Hope ya'll stay good and warm. Blessings, Mona
