Hi all,

I have been going through the various forums and have seen many members that do not seem to have a photo cropping and resizing program. Here is free version that is the most user friendly. You all should have Fast Stone viewer. Here is the link to get it free. Hit the download the FastStone Image Viewer 4.6.

www.faststone.org/

Then follow my instructions that I will show. I will take some photos to show you what to do next. I just took the photos. Give me a few minutes and I will have the entire cropping process explained in detail with photos to aid you all. I will have it up in an hour.

First select the folder and then the photo you wish to crop or reduce the size of the photo on.

You now can either hit the x key on your keyboard to bring up the crop board or hit the right mouse button to bring up the options where you can select it. This takes longer so I always just hit x on my keyboard. The right side of the list of options and features shows the short cut to each tool or feature. Use these short cuts. Most use the Control key in unison with another letter. Such as Crtl + S is save.
Ctrl + r is reduce photo size.

Now once you are in the crop board you just left click the mouse around the area you wish to crop. Click and drag and then release. If you release in wrong area you can go back and carefully move the desired line further in or further back. As long as you see the double arrows you will not deselect the area you have highlighted for cropping.

Once you are pleased with the cropped area hit enter on the keyboard or hit the crop key shown in the photo. The keyboard enter is quicker. Use the short cut keys where possible.

Now just save the photo. If you try to navigate away from the photo it will ask you to save your changes so mistakes happen very seldom with Fast Stone viewer. It is very user friendly. The short cut key command for saving that you can use anytime saving is required is once again Control plus the letter s--AKA ---Ctrl + s. It is very straight forwards.

Next up is reducing photos in size and then I will also show you all how to batch reduce thousands of photos in minutes all to the desired size you wish. This can recover tremendous hard drive space on your computer by reducing all your photos in size to a more user friendly size. Cropping them also reduced their save size and once again saves you hard drive space.

Plus now you can email photos and post to forums easier and not have to worry about having too large an image to post or email to your friends.

Once again you can hit right mouse and then go through the various options until you get the re size feature. I yet again recommend you just use the short cut keys and remove that Carpel Tunnel syndrome from happening. BG. Always take the short cut where keyboards and mouse operations are used.
