Growing Daylilies Together

You know you are addicted to daylilies when want to plant daylilies in that little patch of empty space just down the road or want contact the City to put daylilies by the off ramp by your house.



You know you are addicted to daylilies when...

... a lawn is just another name for a future flower bed!

You have more pictures of your daylilies than you do of your children.

You cancel your cable television so you will have more $ to spend on daylilies. ( oh, I could go on and on )

you promise your nieghbor to til a new flower bed for her so she'll have a place to plant all those seedlings your giving her. The ones you couldn't bear to compost.

These are all really good ones! I can especially relate to Kim's message #14492 as I HAVE made new flower beds for our neighbors (on both sides of our house) with the arrangement that I would make it look 'great' in exchange for using the space. Of course, they both are full of daylilies!

How about you know you are addicted to daylilies when you carry pictures in your wallet or purse of your daylily seedlings instead of your family?

Or when you can't babysit your grandkids in the mornings during bloom season because you'll be busy pollinating? (That's really cruel!)

Or when you shop for other plants according to how they color co-ordinate with the daylilies in a particular area?

Or instead of giving your friends birthday gifts that THEY would love, you give them daylilies that YOU love?

Or if your spouse has actually checked into whether there is a twelve step program they could get you into?

You're right Edward, I don't have 500 children, in my case it would be I don't have 371 children, but I had literally hundreds of pictures of my two children, but now I have thousands of pictures of my daylilies!!!!! And as Becky said, I will more quickly show someone a picture of one of my daylilies, and have to search to find a picture of my two children.

now, I suspect I have a problem, when I see people at work running away from me when they see me coming with my laptop which they all know is filled with my daylily pictures. The nicer co workers just get a glazed over look!!!
