Growing Daylilies Together

The most time-consuming aspect of gardening is weed control. Herbicides, mulching, hand weeding and other strategies have advantages and disadvantages, and must vary widely depending on the climate, soil, surrounding environment and the weeds to be controlled.

I'd like to start this forum with discussions of our experience with individual herbicides. I'd like a separate message for each herbicide.

The things I'd like to know are:

(1) Which problem weeds does this kill for you?

(2) How have you used this herbicide?

(3) Does it damage daylilies? What other garden plants can tolerate it? (Especially Hosta, Iris, and broadleaved dicot garden plants.)

(4) Where is your experience from? (Location and environment.)

(5) Any other relevant observations, such as hazards, combinations with other herbicides, etc.

(6) Is this herbicide labelled for daylilies anywhere, and where is it permitted?

You don't need to answer all of these: I'm looking for the GROUP to deliver the answers.

This is a test post, because the lengthy one I just wrote didn't come through. My concern about the use of glyphosphate and what it does to the microbial population of the soil.

If anyone is interested I will be happy to elaborate on this.
