Re: Fluazifop-P-butyl 1 year, 8 months ago #13096

Fusilade II is a herbicide that we spray along the edges of daylily beds where Bermuda Grass is creeping through or over the rock edging. We also spray over the daylilies where needed. It does not harm the daylilies. We do not spray on windy days to protect our lungs, and we do not spray near our inground pond to protect our pondwaters and wildlife in the ponds. We do not allow our pets to walk through while the spraying is going on or while it is still wet. We have used near our camelias, hollies, crepe myrtles, bearded irises and roses with no ill effects.
Syngenta (Syngenta Corp Protection, Inc. out of Greensboro, NC) has published a booklet that came on our purchase of Fusilade II, titled FUSILADE II, that has lists of plants that may be sprayed over, plants that cannot be sprayed over, and some that can once they have been treated with the product prior to using during growing season...We do grow Hosta but have never had the need to spray near them. They are listed on the can spray list, however. We still have plenty of red worms, insects, frogs and lizards around and birds as well. We have less problems with Bermuda each year. Some areas are free of it now. It does not work on nutsedge.

I have a couple of weeds I would like to kill in a BIG way----crab grass, wire grass and chickweed any idea on a product that will work on all of these? Thanks Heather

Using preemergent herbicides is the best way to get rid of crabgrass in grass in the spring. I tend to be very aggressive with crabgrass because it is nasty stuff.
