About me: I'm a small daylily hybridizer and artist. When I'm not in the daylily garden, I'm working on one of my latest art or perhaps a craft project. I've raised daylilies for nearly 15 years and have been working on hybridizing for approximately 9 years. Currently I grow about 600 registered cultivars and always have about 500 or more seedlings under observation. My main areas of interest are patterned eyes, spidery UF's, and wonderful, intense reds. I also have a penchant for bicolors and bitones that I can't shake...:-)

In the world of art I paint, plus I am a lampwork bead artist and designer. No, I don't make lamps...that's just what they call the art of using a torch on rods of colored glass to melt them forming beads of wonderful colors, sizes, and shapes. The name goes back to the old days when they actually used oil lamps to melt the glass, hence the name "lampworking". I make all sorts of beautiful jewelry with my lampwork beads and other beads and gems. Calligraphy, hand spinning, and art quilting are among some of the other arts and crafts I enjoy.

I escaped the city to live in a rural area near Memphis over 30 years ago and am lucky that I can grow all types of daylilies with great success...evergreens, semi-evergreens and dormants feel right at home here. I hope to grow daylilies that are equally at home in both the South and North so that everyone can enjoy them.

I'm very outgoing, fun loving, and ready to help out where I'm needed...just let me know! I have high hopes for this site...it promises to be one that will be of great value to everyone, both as a social network and businesswise. It's going to be exactly what we make it, so put some energy into it...:-)
Wishing Well: I wish my health were a little better than it is so that I could do more in my garden MYSELF and not have to depend on others to help me so much. God bless my sweet hubby for the help provided...I could not enjoy my daylilies so much without his help.
