- I'm a writer and classical singer who retired as Director of the Missouri Humanities Council in March, 2010. I've been hybridizing daylilies since 1994 and am now an AHS Garden Judge and Instructor. Sandra Bouman, my wife of almost 32 years, died of breast cancer in June of 2008. In 2006 I named SAN PICKED ME for her. I remarried in July 2009. Kathy Bouman loves to write, garden, and go to museums, theater, and concerts with me.
