David DeKort : Still Months behind. Being away 9 months last year adds up quickly.

About me: I am a pharmaceutical chemist by trade. I pick up the sickness pretty much like everyone else. At this present time, one phrase best describes my garden. "A Work in Progress". About 4 years ago, I purchased 3 acres between Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina. In my short time with daylilies I have collected over 600 different varieties (most still being moved to the new place). Many of these cultivars are newer varieties, but I maintain a health stock of Oldies but Goodies for breeding. I've picked up the sickness of hybridizing from a local grower and been fine tuned by Sellers/Santa Lucia and Roger Mercer. My mission is to create big hardy plants, good branching and bud count, large clear colored flowers and unique form. I'm looking for the total package, not just a pretty face. I put emphasis on Northern Hardiness. I have in this short time, chosen a few plants that I plan to introduce once they have completed a vigorous trial period. After that period, they will be worthy of a name. This garden is in its infant stages, but it does put on a show. Come on over, say hello and see my work in progress.
